What is The 1017 Project?

Using resources from within various Cowboy Churches across the nation, the 1017 Project is building and sustaining a herd of cattle that provides beef free of charge – to needy families within local churches and surrounding areas. We believe a hands-on ministry that locks arms with its community should be the goal of every person in the church; and the 1017 Project does just that, while bringing into the storehouse some of the best nourishment available in order to feed families who might not otherwise receive high quality protein. The 1017 Project is a PEOPLE Project

Community. Ministry. Service.

Building Community

The 1017 Project brings members of the church and the community together to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Strengthening Ministry Outreach

The 1017 calves sustain year-round training outlets and events, ministering to the cowboy culture and those who otherwise may not participate in a church event.

Creating Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers make the project work. The 1017 Project creates unique opportunities for men, women, and children to volunteer their time in a way that is fun and meaningful.

Providing Food for Needy Families

To date, the 1017 Project has worked with local food banks to distribute more than 10,000 pounds of meat to hungry families and individuals in need.
